Pay on the door Improve your mobility, balance and muscle tone while enjoying the company of other seniors. Easy dances, steady pace. If you can walk, you can dance! Friendly, sociable class. No partner or prior experience needed. Research by the University of Leeds , has highlighted the benefits of dancing for seniors: *Good for the heart *Builds muscle strength *Improves balance *Increases the ‘happy hormones’ serotonin and endorphins. *Increases flexibility and agility *Improves mental health In 1997, I was knocked down by a car while crossing the road. My back was broken and myknee smashed. I was on crutches. Walking was difficult, but I carried on dancing as soon as I could. A few years later, the consultant told me I needed a knee replacement as I have a ligament missing, extensive cartilage damage and osteoarthritis. I refused and kept dancing. Car: The postcode is BR5 0RZ. There is some parking in front of the hall, and further parking in Tesco opposite. Train: Orpington Station is a short walk away. Turn left out of the station, go down the hill and the hall is on your right, opposite Tesco. Bus: Bus to Orpington High Street, memorial bus stop. Loose, relaxing clothing. Ladies: skirt or trousers and blouse.Men: trousers and shirts or T-shirt. Dancing shoes or trainers. Do I have to book? No. Do you get paid for running Juice of Barley?
